Igbo alphabet and characters
The Igbo alphabet should display only the following characters. If your document is not showing correctly, then first check that the encoding for that program and font supports Igbo.

Nouns
There is no grammatical gender for Igbo nouns, neither they are declined for case, nor inflected for number. Plural form is marked by words such as umu and ndị (“people”).
It is only personal pronouns that are marked for person and number.

- People’s names.
- Geographical names (of countries, counties/states, cities etc.).
- Headings/titles: only the first word is capitalised unless a proper noun is featured.
- Names of states, unions, federations.
