The Hausa alphabet should display only the following characters. If your document is not showing correctly, then first check that the encoding for that program and font supports Hausa.

Hausa is an agglutinative language, e.g. grammatical forms are created by adding various suffixes to fixed stems.
Hausa nouns are inflected for gender and number. Masculine and feminine are distinguished only in the singular.

- Geographical names (of countries, counties/states, cities etc.).
- Headings/titles: only the first word is capitalised unless a proper noun is featured.
- Microsoft profuct names.
- Commands, dialog boxes andd titles.
